Rénovation d’un appartement des années 90 situé à Nantes, ce projet repense entièrement les espaces pour valoriser la lumière naturelle et la vue exceptionnelle sur la ville. L’agencement sur mesure, guidé par les œuvres d’art des propriétaires, structure les volumes et crée une atmosphère cohérente, chaleureuse et contemporaine. Entre fonctionnalité et esthétique, chaque espace a été optimisé pour offrir confort et fluidité au quotidien.
Les souhaits des propriétaires
Cet appartement au 8e étage d’un immeuble des années 90 est entouré d’une grande terrasse avec de larges baies offrant une très belle vue sur un canal et des monuments emblématiques du centre-ville de Nantes.
Les clients ont souhaité que les aménagements extérieurs soient pris en compte lors de l’étude du projet. Il a été décidé d’en différer la réalisation afin de respecter l’enveloppe budgétaire.
Le programme consistait à décloisonner la cuisine et la buanderie existante, conserver les deux chambres, relier la salle d’eau à la chambre principale avec un dressing, créer un grand salon comprenant un espace de projection, une bibliothèque et des rangements.
Les clients ont souhaité intégrer au projet d’aménagement intérieur des œuvres d’art déjà acquises.
La réponse de l’architecte d’intérieur
Les œuvres d’art des clients ont guidé le travail de l’architecte d’intérieur dans le dessin de l’agencement sur mesure, la gestion des espaces, le choix des matériaux et des couleurs.
L’ensemble de l’appartement, à l’exception des pièces d’eau, a été parqueté avec des lames larges en chêne clair huilé brossé.
Dans l’entrée, le jeu des miroirs et des portes en contreplaqué bouleau redéfinit la lecture des espaces. Le contraste des peintures sombres et clairs des murs du couloir, accentue cet effet et vient répondre aux tonalités d’un grand tableau au fond du couloir d’entrée.
L’agencement du salon en contreplaqué bouleau alterne avec des tasseaux sur chant et des façades unies et rectilignes. Dans le prolongement de la bibliothèque, un plafond en bois à tasseaux accueille un vidéoprojecteur avec ascenseur encastré. Cela confère à cet espace un confort acoustique et une belle intimité. Le mobilier provient de la boutique nantaise l’Inatelier, distributeur de la marque angevine Drugeot Manufacture.
Dans un souci de cohérence, le choix des luminaires pour ces espaces communicants, est allé vers un fabricant et créateur nantais, la marque Dix Heure Dix.
Dans la cuisine, afin de libérer de l’espace, des rangements et une machine à laver ont été intégrés aux colonnes encastrées. Cela a permis de positionner en son centre, une table à manger dessinée sur mesure, d’environ 2 mètres de long. La cuisine aménagée sobre et fonctionnelle provient de la marque allemande Leicht, le carrelage et la faïence murale de la marque italienne 41 Zéro 42 distribués par le showroom Ablain.
La salle d’eau très lumineuse, a été entièrement réaménagée avec la pose d’un carrelage au sol et sur les murs des carreaux Mutina Pico (Up natural blanc / blue dots). Nous avons opté pour une robinetterie encastrée de la marque Fantini collection Nostromo finition Matt Gun. Le meuble vasque avec une façade bleue de la marque Artelinéa et les sèche-serviettes électriques Plug and Play Scaletta de la marque Tubes.
La chambre comporte une tête de lit en contreplaqué bouleau vernis dans l’esprit de l’agencement déjà présent dans l’appartement. Au-dessus de la tête de lit, encadré par deux colonne de placard blanches, un parement en staff peint en terracota vient contraster avec les tons de bois clair et blanc.

Renovation of a 1990s apartment located in Nantes, this project completely rethinks the spaces to enhance natural light and the exceptional view over the city. Custom-built joinery, guided by the owners’ artworks, structures the volumes and creates a coherent, warm, and contemporary atmosphere. Balancing functionality and aesthetics, each space has been optimized to provide comfort and fluidity in everyday life.
The clients’ expectations
This apartment, located on the 8th floor of a 1990s building, is surrounded by a large terrace with wide openings offering a beautiful view over a canal and emblematic monuments of Nantes city center.
The clients wanted the outdoor layout to be considered in the design phase. It was decided to postpone its execution in order to respect the overall budget.
The program consisted of opening up the kitchen and existing utility room, keeping the two bedrooms, connecting the bathroom to the main bedroom with a dressing room, and creating a large living room including a projection area, a library, and storage.
The clients also wished to integrate their existing artworks into the interior design project.
The interior designer’s response
The clients’ artworks guided the interior designer’s work in the design of the custom joinery, the spatial organization, and the selection of materials and colors.
The entire apartment, except for wet areas, was fitted with wide planks of brushed, oiled light oak parquet.
In the entrance, the play of mirrors and birch plywood doors redefines the perception of space. The contrast between dark and light wall paints in the corridor enhances this effect and responds to the tones of a large artwork at the end of the hallway.
The living room joinery in birch plywood alternates with vertical slats and smooth, linear fronts. Extending from the library, a wood slatted ceiling houses a built-in lift projector, providing both acoustic comfort and a sense of intimacy. The furniture comes from the Nantes-based store Inatelier, distributor of the Angers-based brand Drugeot Manufacture.
For consistency, the lighting selection for these interconnected spaces focused on a Nantes-based designer brand, Dix Heure Dix.
In the kitchen, to free up space, storage units and a washing machine were integrated into built-in columns. This allowed the placement of a custom-designed dining table, approximately 2 meters long, at the center. The sober and functional fitted kitchen is from the German brand Leicht, while the tiles and wall coverings are from the Italian brand 41 Zero 42, distributed by Ablain showroom.
The very bright bathroom was completely redesigned with floor and wall tiles using Mutina Pico tiles (Up natural white / blue dots). We selected built-in faucets from Fantini, Nostromo collection, Matt Gun finish. The vanity unit with a blue front is by Artelinéa, and the electric towel warmers are Plug and Play Scaletta by Tubes.
The bedroom features a varnished birch plywood headboard in continuity with the apartment’s joinery. Above it, framed by two white wardrobe columns, a painted terracotta staff cladding contrasts with the light wood and white tones.
